Kioti CK30HST, Kubota BX-1500,
I am wondering if a "CAT 2" 72' box blade, 500lbs will fit and work ok on my CAT 1 Kioti CK30????????

It seems to weigh the same as the KK CAT 1 Box blade, 72' @ 500lbs.

Is the hook up the same?

Thanks

Mike

Hello. No, the hookup is not the same. It's easy to adapt the other way, but difficult the way you suggest...

Specifically, Cat. 2 toplink pin is 1" Diameter, and the lower link pins are 1 1/8" (vs. 3/4" and 7/8" for Cat. 1). You can use bushings to adapt Cat. 1 implements to a Cat. 2 3pt. Chances are it's the same blade with different diameter pins and toplink pin holes.

if it has bolt on pins you can swap down to cat 1 pins, I believe they use the same size on the bolt/nut side, and then use a cat 1 toplink.

No. A Cat 2 implement will have a 1-1/8" lift pin hole. Cat 1 implements have 7/8" lift pin holes. You might have to hunt around to find some, but what you need will be a 7/8" pin that has 1-1/8" threads. They're not very common, so you might have to do some hunting. If you can't find any, you may have to fabricate your own bushings to put the 7/8" Cat 1 threads through the 1-1/8" Cat 2 holes

Toplink isn't so hard, you can do it yourself. A Cat 2 implement has a 1" toplink hole. A Cat 1 toplink pin is only 3/4". Get a piece of 3/4" steel pipe. It should be 3/4" ID and 1" OD. Cut two sections to fit the distance between your toplink swivel and the ends of the toplink pin. One pair of home-made adapter bushings. The steel will rust, so you might want to keep them greased.

But one last thing before we all put the cart on front of the horse here. That Cat2 box might have 32" lift pin spacing. Make sure your Kioti lift arms will spread to at least 38", or you'll never even be able to mount the implement.

I did that with my Cat I tractor and Cat II 8' blade. Get the 7/8 pin with 1 1/8 thread lift pins greg g talked about and set the pins on the inside instead of the outside. For the top link, I bought a Cat I and Cat II with a common thread and switched out the ends with a Cat I on the tractor end and the Cat II on the implement end. I might have a picture at home I can post later.

I had a similar setup. I used the standard 7/8" pins and cut a piece of 1" pipe as a bushing to make the threaded end fit the Cat 2 hole. I don't remember if I had to split the bushing to make it fit.

There are also multi pins that have a necked down section.. part cat 1 on the end, and cat 2 towards the shoulder.

toplink won't be the issue.. but the bottom pins as greg and the others have said.

Ya might be able to turn the pins inward, depending on the design, if it is too wide for your tractor lift arms.. That's a common trick when using cat 1 implements on cat 0 and limited cat 1 tractors.

Here is a picture of the Cat I draw pin with a Cat II thread mounted toward the inside.
