I'm looking at used CTL's to use on small farm. I want a Cat 259 size but want to know how far back I have to go ( what year) to avoid emission controls that make maintenance a nightmare.
I have located a clean 2012 Cat 259B will 1148 hours on it but I can't find out from Cat about the emission issue.

Any body out there that knows what I am in store for with this machine. I think I have been spoiled by my Case 1845C.

2012 machines should have emissions.

I believe 2012 machine might be a tier 4 interim engine which meant it may just have the PCV tube going back into the intake. It wasn't till 2014 and after that diesels above 25hp had to be tier 4 compliant. Don't quote me on that though.. Purely from memory.
