Man, I got a soft spot for orange cats. (y)
Ouch. One of my critter cams at the ranch this morning shows a bobcat carrying what seems to be a housecat that it killed. Light color and near white belly. It was possibly an orange cat 2/3 grown. Or might have been a baby fox since I think I see a black tail tip - or that might just be shadows. Today's photo is brutal, it doesn't belong in this thread about pet cats that are loved members of one's family.

I've considered starting a thread for my critter cam photos, everyone welcome but hopefully limited to the small animals that surround us - foxes etc. Well I'll also post the fawn that mama parked under the deck table last year, and the two newborn fawns left under the desk bench outside the kitchen window a few years ago, in both cases while mama went out to graze. The twin fawns were so new that they were shaky, wobbly, on their feet, almost couldn't walk. Cute to watch.

Our closest neighbor's cat "Sweet Potato"...I call him "Yam" . He's elusive but a great tom. He shows up as a stray at neighbor's a few years ago...the Ms. wanted him, her husband didn't...so I suggested our local no-kill shelter (I knew they wouldn't take him...they don't cover our area ...poor wife crying, but I knew what would happen). So husband takes him off & lets him out ...few days later he's back! So I talked with husband, saying we would take him...but what a mouser! I said you won't have mice or chewed car/tractor wires.
He hangs out here mostly. Never a mouse anywhere, house, garage, horse stable. I do find dead ones around he left.
When he goes to vet they call me to put him in pet taxi. He's great having around!

Yeah, probably a topic for another thread. One of several reasons we don't allow our cats outside.

Wife got me a trail camera for Christmas. We volunteered for a wildlife study put on by Purdue. Gotta log how many deer, fur bearers, squirrels/chipmunks, waterfowl and songbirds we see every day around our home. I thought we had a game trail along our bushes, but every night around 2am, it's a big fat gray cat making its rounds. :ROFLMAO:

Agree, I love my bobcats and understand they need to eat

I keep my 3 terrors inside. (As plump as 2 of them are)

He adopted me. I had no choice. I read somewhere that orange cats are mostly male, due to an x/y chromosome thing.

I had one I found as a kitten in our bushes. I trained him like a dog with our Cairn Terrier. He'd walk on a leash, sit, shake hands, speak.
