After much research I replaced my JD 4720 with a Branson 5835r. Actually I kept the deere also. Anyway the Branson came with cat 2 3 point. Most of my equipment is cat 1. I don't mind using bushings on the side links but it is a pain on the top link. I have bought 2 different brand cat2/cat1 links and both cat 2 ends are to wide to fit the branson receiver . Does any one know of a source that would fit? I am considering a hydraulic link but it would be an online buy and I am worried it will have the same problem. I am not comfortable with possibly grinding the edges off the cat 2 bearing. Thanks for any ideas.

Do you have an angle grinder? You could just grind down the sides the cat 2 end on the top link. It will work just fine.

So you need 1 3/4" wide ball swivels at both ends? Is the tractor end a 3/4" or 1" pin? Not that it matters, I build them for what your application requires. (y)

Grinding off the edges to make it fit will not cause any problems.

tractor end is a 1 inch pin. I guess i might try grinding the edges off or else do the custom link. Thanks for replies.

Eight years ago I went from an OEM manual top link to a Fit Rite hydraulic top link. There are no problems and the fit is perfect.

I would guess the top receiver on my Kubota M6040 must be a tad wider. I've always had plenty of clearance.
