I did something dumb. Yes I am a newb. I have a Shaver HD-10 post driver I bought used. I wasn't aware at the time but they fit Cat II tractors. Mine is Cat I. I can get and modify bushings to make the top link on my 3pt hitch fit. However the pins on the PD for the 3pt lower bars are welded in place. I am trying to think of a way to get my cat I lower bars to fit. I can either; grind the pins on the PD down till the fit the Cat I size n the tractor or get a couple of Cat II lift arm ends and weld them to the Cat I lift arm ends that I have on the tractor or cut the Cat I ends off and weld the Cat II ends on my lower bars and use bushings to use the Cat I implements I have. Is the a simpler solution out there? Which way I mentioned seems to be the best?

Cut off the cat 2 pins on the phd and drill holes for new cat 1 pins. No welding necessary.

Your hitch arms may not go wide enough to reach the Cat II pin location. Check that first. If they don't you might be able to install Cat I pins facing inward instead of outward.

If you would rather just spend money instead of modifying the implement, you might buy a Cat II quick hitch that will fit the implement (if it is QH compatible) and use bushings to adapt the QH to your Cat I tractor.

Or their may be a version of Pat's hitch that will convert your hitch to Cat II.

Post a photo of the post driver front for better suggestions.

All good suggestions and thanks. I was in TS the other day and walked past the cross drawbars and it hit me. I'll buy one of these and weld it across the front of the PD. Then just use bushings in the top link. Here is the result. Not the prettiest welds but I think they'll hold up. Time will tell after I drive some posts.

Just make sure the horizontal drawbar is secure,, hate to see someone hurt if it breaks loose.
