I just bought this today, found it on Craigslist and got for 1000.00! Have been wanting one for awhile and finding used for a 20' trailer has been difficult. Anyways I got it from the young man that built it. He did this in High school as a project several years ago. Its got 2 interior gates and the back gate opens completely and slides open too, plus a man gate on the front passenger side. Has interior lights on a switch and back up lights on a switch, plus top running lights. I was just impressed with his attention to detail and figured someone might like the idea. I had resolved myself to the idea of building one as new ones are close to 3k for a 20'er. I dont think I could have got the materials for what I paid. Going to go good with my new 20' G/N I am getting with drive over fenders. Time to clean it up and fresh coat of paint now.

Id say you got a heck of a deal. it appears the top part jacks up on the barrels and leves the flatbed for another use?

Yes, good deal. Definitely paint because the steel may have been whatever was available.

Are those 4 side sections that are resting on barrels, removable? If not, would the width be restricted on the roadways in order to deliver your cattle to auction? Do you know the weight limit on the axles? All in all, the price seems good.

The out riggers are removable, so no width restriction. The insert will fit on any utility trailer that is 83"s wide. Just back under, lower it on bed of trailer, remove outrigger/jacks, secure down and go. He used the pieces of channel thats welded to the side of the cage to bolt to top rail of utulity trailer with U bolts. I will be changing that part as i do not like having rails on my trailer. the trailer in the pic has 5,200lb axles and 10 ply E rated tires. Soon to be replaced with a 20' Goose neck with drive over fender and 7k axles. Instead having have a cattle trailer and flatbed trailer. I can use the flat bed to haul cattle with this mounted on it and take off and haul tractor etc. Does not take long to back under and drop it on the trailer.

Sounds like sound planning. Well done and a good deal in regards to the price. Best wishes.
