Cb radio mounted on 4 wheeler

Mounted a cb radio to the Atv last week started by welding a squarish price of steel to the back rack for antenna magnet mount then drilled holes on top of left front fender for radio mount wired it up and turned out great

That looks like a pretty nice radio you have there ! Looks like from pic from afar it has a built in swr meter.
Did you check your swr's ? If not sooner or later you will fry your transmit final in your radio.
Also just cause you hear everyone does not mean they will hear you. Its difficult to mount a cb on an atv and get out far.
Not to much what we call ground plane. A 9' steel whip will get out better but once again swr's must be checked.
Not trying to be a hard arse or want to come across as an know it all but don't wanna see your damage your radio.

Dont forget and leave taht thing on! those batteries are tiny and probly not much reserve in them!!!!!

You could wire in a relay so the radio power cuts off with the ignition.

All he did is weld flat steel into the back rack? Looks like he just drilled the radio to the fender with the same bracket you hang it in a truck?

It is a cool recon. I like the older hondas, reliable and fuel efficient. The new 4 wheels are almost 2 big to get through the wooods. Also who needs to sit that high and go 60mph?
