I noticed when the lower arm and bucket are hanging straight down I have some swing/slop in the very top pin (where the ram attaches). Sure enough I took the cover off and the 30mm Pin (per factory specs) is floating in a hole roughly 31.7mm in diameter. I have a message into the dealer (backhoe has 20 hours of good use), tractor has 35 hours total.

Can anyone go see if they can swing there lower arm and watch for slop....or be really awesome and go remove cover with Allen wrench, wipe off grease, tap pin out just a bit and measure hole?

posted a quick youtube clip as well Backhoe Slop? - YouTube

Overall I love this tractor, only minor issues thus far were loose zerks on hoe and loader from factory, and a bad male fitting on a quick connect. (fitting shipped under warranty of course).

Opinions from CB65 Hoe owners welcome.

I have one and should be able to measure after work, but what is your actual question/concern? Is the pin right? Was the hole made too large? Did you make the hole larger during use?

I'm thinking the pin is right and the hole was drilled oversize. I don't think there is anyway the hole has worn that much with a machine less than 30 days old.

If you let your lower arm hang in the air (with bucket drooped) and shut off your tractor, wiggle your lower arm and see if you can see that pin move/wiggle around. Mine is noticeable.

My concern is overtime there will be a lot of wear on that hole and it will get oval shaped. I can fix this with a new pin and bushings and weld/fab ups something a bit more robust....but I do that when a tractor is 10 years old and not under warranty :)

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Dealer has contacted rep as welll

I have not noticed any slop on my GC1720 - it's 150 miles away or I'd run out and measure it. got me curious now, so next time at property I'll do a wiggle test.

I have the allen handy since I have previously ripped/destroyed/replaced the rubber gasketed pin caps on 3 pins around the bucket and arm :confused3: Poor stump removal practices.

Sorry for the delay; I could not find this post to save my life...I do not have the slop shown in your picture. Looking back at your second picture (could be an illusion) it almost looks like the hole initially wasn't bored enough (or too much paint applied) and a pin was pounded (forced) through. There appears to be a bulge around the edge of that hole, but the grease obscures it a bit. The painting process during mfr. definitely takes up some clearance. I had a bear of a time removing my BH and FEL the first few times because excess paint was causing binding of the mounts. I've worn down some of those high paint spots and keep the subframes and mounts greased to aid in detach/re-attachment.

Try removing the pin, moving the piston out of the way, and then re-insert the pin (without piston). How much wiggle do you have? I only have enough clearance to get the pin in and out with little additional (wasted) movement. Would a sleeve/bushing help protect that hole if it truly is too large before becoming an oval?

I looked at other holes and they have that same weird paint/pounded look. I was afraid this hole was too big....I haven't measured the pin yet....but knowing the pin should be 30mm and hole measures 31.75mm I have a feeling the pin is right and the hole should be closer to 30.75mm......I'll see what the dealer/rep says....maybe I'll get a new arm out of the deal....if it was out of warranty I would have a bushing made, drill it out and weld the bushing in....however I'll use the warranty first.

Thanks a bunch for the help, I'll update this post as it evolves.
