We're replacing the paddock fencing. I moved the rear line of the fence about 25 yards down-slope and found it to be pretty darn soggy. I place the 8ft Cedar posts nearly 3.5 feet down. I did use 1/2 bag concrete to Anchor the corners and 1 in from corner. the rest I usually just packed in w/ the dug clay and 23A limestone packed down. BUT... on this soggy ground, it's just a water bucket and limestone slurry. I can deflect them 1 full foot, and pull/twist right out. Done a lot of fence and never experienced this. water is full to a few inches from the top.

so... I'm going to pop them out, ream the hole back out, and reset but w/ a mix of the concrete and rock. anyone have any tips for putting posts thru a wetter area to get them to firm up a bit? Just thougt I'd ask for your favorite post packing ideas .

As above, drive them in. But now that you have the holes.... I would just place the post where you want it in the hole and backfill with crushed rock. As you wiggle the post the crushed rock will settle tighter and tighter around the post.
