I've a relatively small lawn I mow in Mississippi. It's about 30' x 70'. Soil is fairly sandy, the grass WAS primarily centipede but over the years I've usually not been able to be around to "reseed" at the proper time and invasive clover and other grasses have had their impact. This year, thanks to Covid 19 I've been here and have reseeded a small patch, about 20'x20', apparently with some success.
From my reading it seems centipede requires frequent wetting, warm temps, fair amount of sun.
So I set my mower on scalp, double raked, spread the seed (expensive seed) and set up to water about 4 or more times a day after the temps warmed up in mid May.

Now I'm wondering how hot can the environment get and the seed still germinate? If temps stay below 90 deg F is it worth wasting the time to try another patch?

We put some out a little early but it came up just fine. I think if you kept it watered the higher temp would be fine. Did you use all your seed already or will you buy more for another patch?

I think if I had the seed I would definitely go ahead and put them out.
