Hello fellow TBN members.
I have been reading and posting here at TBN for a while. I have learned we have many people from all over with many different views, backgrounds and knowledge. I respect that. Anyone who has read my profile can see I am the rep for American Jawa. I was wondering if anyone in the Northeast (PA, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, NH & ME) might have any suggestions for new dealership prospects? I am looking for a few honest quality equipment dealerships interested in expanding existing equipment lines to include tractors or expanding their existing tractor business. If you have been reading this board I am sure you can see we (American Jawa) have an excellent product line. The tractors are distributed from Harrisburg, PA. I live in CT, you can speak with anyone I am associated with (dealer etc). I believe they will tell you although I am not perfect I am an asset to them or their organization. Many people here have said they do not have a local Century or Zetor dealer. With your help we can change that.

Hey Chipperman,

How's HTC been to deal with so far on the Zetors?

I only cover the Northeast (US). Where is HTC and what does it stand for?

I do not know. American Jawa is (at least now) not part of Jawa. I understand they did import both the motorcycles and the mopeds at one time. Crystal, and side cars also. Now we just bring in tractors and implements

HTC is the Slovakian machine tool company that saved Zetor from becoming history. Are you guys owned directly by HTC? Do you know about the Zetorworld site of Renze's? www.zetorworld.com

Yes Woodbeef, I had a brain lapse. We do not here much about them other then they did purchase Zetor not long ago. It appears there has been a major increase in R/D. Supply of parts and equipment is excellent. Don't get me wrong just like all the other businesses including the "big 3", if we sell way more then we forecast we will have a shortage. Zetor is a separate company and operates independently. Saving them from being history I think might have been a little strong. With over a million tractors produced I'm confident someone else would have stepped up to the plate. And yes I am aware of Zetor world. Lately I have not spent much time their. I will have to visit soon.

It was either HTC or UZEL,after Mahindra backed out. UZEL lost out over HTC. If UZEL would have won,I could see Zetor disappearing once the government time frame expired for keeping the name alive and building the tractors in Czecho.

From what I'm hearing out of Europe though HTC is trying to very quickly pass the $$$ burden on to the customer. By so doing they are quickly pricing themselves out of their niche market. HTC is also working on trying to move the tractors uptown, which might not be a good idera I'm affraid. Zetor is well known for building a very good economy tractor.......but they are not known for building a very good hi-tech tractor. Not sure if they can compete out of their element .

Maybe in Europe but we have not seen a price increase here in the US. I can't say what will happen in the future especially with the changes in the value of the dollar. But that will effect all of the foreign mfg. Has the price gone up n Canada? We are still an excellent value here in the states

Chipperman,

Yes, we have had a dramatic price increase on the Forterra series, along with the Super. The 9641 MSRP($65,000) is only $3,000CDN below that of a Deutz-Fahr Agrotron 90. With the Deutz being much better equipped.

The Supers are priced higher than both the Valtra and CIH econo lines.

Might be our new importer up here,I'm not sure. But Motokov was inching the prices up every year lately too.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens, and if they do totally replace the UR I series or just slot something in between it and the UR III.
