Century Fuel Stop

Fuel stop on 2003 Century 3040 will not engage to allow tractor to start. I replaced the fuel shut off solenoid. When you turn the key on you can manually pull the stop back and it will stay and tractor will start. When you turn the key to off the solenoid kicks out and tractor stops. It just will not engage when trying to start. It seems like the relay may be the problem but can't locate a OMRON KG8JR-1A2T anywhere. I understand there is a timer also but not sure what I'm looking for. Any advice?

I took mine off and I use a mechanical choke cable control it. I pull the cable out to start it and push it in to turn it off. I also put on a push button to control my glow plugs. I turn on the key, push the button for a count to ten, and then turn the key all the way to start it. then I let go of the glow plug button.

I have a 2003 Century 2535 and I've removed every single piece of wire on it except to the starter, glow plugs, alternator and electric fuel pump that I installed to replace the factory fuel pump. For the last few years, starting it has been a nightmare. I finally got so frustrated that I "fixed" it. Now it fires up every time I want to use it!!!!

You could try the stop relay for a Branson 4520.

I have a Century 2535 and it has done something similar to this at times. I open the hood and take off the right side engine cover to manually push the plunger (metal linkage coming out of the rubber boot) back into the solenoid. I can always tell if it has failed to retract when I first turn the key switch on when heating glow plugs. If I don't hear a loud click (pop) when I turn key to first position and then nothing happens when I try to engage starter I know to do this procedure. Kind of a pain but it works for me.
