I am looking to purchase one of these to complement my Lincoln Weld Pak 100 Mig. Does anyone own one or tried one. Does it have enough juice to do farm repairs? I use my little Lincoln on thicker stuff than I should by running stringers. I am trying to avoid this but stay with 110v for portability. I know I should get the Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 Welder, but it is a 220v rig and twice as expensive. Hey, I know, I am a tight ***! :p

Why??? You'll still be, in theory, limited to 1/8" mild steel. You'd just be doing it with a stick instead of a wire. I've got a Weld Pac 100 and the portability is it's main attraction (plus it's a very good unit). But if I have to do something heavier I just drag it to my shop or run my 180 or 225 off of a generator. I've also got a 100' 220V extension cord that I use around my barn.

You can probably find a used AC225 for less than what you'd pay for the Century and for a little more a AC/DC 225. I'm not sure what extra capability the Century would really give you, but maybe I'm missing something.

I was thinking the 3/32 rod would create a larger bead with out needing to weave as much as I do with the .035 flux core wire. Or is my thought process off on this?
