Century 3035
Howdy,
I just recently recieved my workshhop manual for my Century 3035 and it shows that the 3035's have a Mitsubishi S3L motor. However, my Century Owners manual indicates a Kukje 3T90L. I was able to find a sticker on the side of the engine that says 3T90L. Does anyone know what kind of motor I have? Who made the darn thing? How many different kinds of motors does Century sell?

I'd say its safe to assume that you have a Kukje 3T90L since the other #'s arent even close. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That was helpful... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I figure that the 3T90L indicator is only a sticker and thus it could be placed on after the motor was received from Mitsubishi by Kukje.

I guess I am trying to find out if Century sells a 3035 with a Mitsubishi motor? And whether or not I have one.

Sorry /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif . All I've heared was kukje. I know it was just a sticker, but some manufacturers use diffrent methods than the United States. Call your dealer to be sure. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's a 3T90L. The shop manual was written for the 2535 which has the Mitsu engine, and the 2540 with the Yanmar engine. This manual was then updated for use with the 30 series tractors. You should have gotten a supplement/insert with the changes for the 30 series tractors (mainly electrical stuff). There is a seperate part number for this.

The engine manual for the 3T90L is a seperate part # (and cost). There is also a parts manual available.

MicroPilot,
Thanks! I just got off the phone with my dealer and he told me the same thing. Except he was not aware of an engine manual (scary) Do you have a part number for that?

Also, my dealer told me when I bought it that the motor was the Cummins clone that Kukje is making. However his service guy just told me that the Cummins clone is only on the new Zetors. I guess it doesn't matter but I guess sales guys are sales guys.

The 3035's have the Kukje engine. The new C series tractor will have essentially the same engine as the one they are making for Cummins. I believe this is a 4 cyl 40hp.

I don't have the part # for the manual. I had one and returned it as my dealer wanted to charge me $50 for a book of unreadable photocopies.

Try e-mailing the parts director of Century,plaznicka@amjawa.com , Peter Laznicka. He was very helpful with my inquiries regarding service manuals.

Well, back to DigDug's original question............

"Does anyone know what kind of motor I have? Who made the darn thing? How many different kinds of motors does Century sell?"

I just purchased a 2004 Century 2535. Does this have the Mitsubishi motor??? This is getting a little confusing for the uninformed like me. I have a Plymouth Minivan with Mitsubishi motor in it, but at least I was aware of that fact before I bought it.

How would I refer to this motor (Model Name/Number?) when trying to buy parts at some future time when there might not be a Century dealer near me?

Thanks for any information you might share with me.

George

I found a reference to the Mitsubishi S3L motor in an ad for a Mahindra, and it is only a 20 hp motor.

ENGINE - Mitsubishi S3L
Type : Four stroke, indirect injection, water-cooled, diesel
Cylinders : 3
Engine HP (kW) @ RPM : 20 (14.9) @ 2500
Displacement : Cubic inch(cc):68.6 (1125)

The American Jawa website states that the motor in the Century 2535 is a Kukje, 110 cubic inch displacement, 37 HP.

These are apparently not the same engines, although I don't know how you would know for sure who actually manufactured either of them.

My dealer's service guy told me that the early 2535's came in with Mitsubishi's but they didn't sell them for very long. My service manual that started all of this is dated 2001. So I am guessing that you have the same motor as me since mine is a 2004 3035. Hope it's a good one!

I have the same concerns as you do. I am trying to line up all of the information and documentation now before they decide to stop supporting them!

By the way the service manual cost me $56 and out of around 250 pages, roughly 30 are relevant for my tractor. None of which cover the engine. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
