Century 2035
I have talked to someone that is selling a 27 HP Century, with a loader, 4700 lbs? Two or three years old? With less than 100 hrs. He doesn't know the model #, loader #, or exact year. Smells Fishy to me. Haven't looked at it yet.
He wants $10,000. He said he paid $16,500 for it about 3 years ago. How much is true, where is the Serial # on it?
And is there a site where a person can check the year by the Serial #? Also do the dealers have a list of stolen by #'s?

It sounds like a 2028. 4700# would be about right for the total weight of the tractor and loader (it may be closer to 5000). As for the 100 hrs that does not suprize me at all. Most compact owners do not put many hours on them at all. As for the new price of $16,500 that does not sound unreasonble. If it is a 2028 or a 2535 and it is in good shape $10,000 would be a very good price. You can go to amjawa.com to see the current Century models. If it is a 2028 the closest current model is the C29.
Good Luck and happy tractoring.

I paid around $10,500 for my 2535 two years ago brand new. No loader. It's 35 hp, 4X4, with rear remotes. Nothing else.

I think I got a good deal on it, but prices vary around the country. I think $16,500 is kind of high for a 27 hp tractor with a loader, but who knows.

Is this on EBay? I wouldn't touch it unless you can see it, drive it, and see the original bill of sale.

I bought it. The guy came up with the original bill of sale. He just didn't know anything about it, and never drove it. His kids used it. It is a 2035, with a Great Bend loader, and a Southern bush hog, with 70 hours on it. $10,500.00, looks new, I think I will like it. A lot of tractor for the money.

Does your shuttle shift grind? I am looking at buying a Century 2035 w/ C50 loader and only 70 hours also. When I test drove it the shuttle would grind a little when shifting from reverse to forward if it was moving at all. It didn't grind going into reverse even in motion. Is this normal or does it need to come to a complete stop ? Anything you don't like about it?

Mine likes when I come to a complete stop..it may grind if I get lazy and dont shift it all the way...obviously.

The more I use it the better it gets...hardly an issue anymore.

These are good machines..very little trouble...go look at some of the other boards and hear the complaints..not much here.

I never noticed, I guess I come to a complete stop. And I think you should, just as if you are shifting any transmission, from forward to reverse. I have used it about 10 hours so far mowing, loader work, pushing over dead trees, and hauling them, moving dirt, and leveling. No problems so far, I like it.

Like Rameye, mine grinds just a little if I do not have the lever all the way up before I let the clutch out but it still goes into gear. I can go from forward to reverse or reverse to forward without coming to a complete stop.
