HI,

From reading posts here I got the impression that a rotary cutter chain guard would be made from 3/16 chain.

My Woods Brushbull 60CW cutter is in at the dealers, but part of the 3PH frame is missing so I can't take delivery yet.

When I saw it I was surprised by the size of the chain links used to make the chain guards. I will measure them after taking delivery, but they are at least 5/16 and may be 3/8.

What is the norm? What size chain links are used on your chain guards if you have them on your rotary cutter?

I'm impressed by the ones on my BB60cW for sure...

soarkrebel,

The W stands for Chaing guards.

BB60, as you know is the basic unit without either the clutch or the chain guards...

I have used my BB60 about 20 hrs now and I just ordered the chain option because the cheap metal / rubber guards it came with are getting fairly bent up. I wont have them for a week or two and I am hopeing they are heavy duty and worth the extra $$. Pleae let us know what you think when you get yours.

Bob_S,

I think you will be pleased with the chain guards. I worked in the steel industry in maintenance and they looked satisfactory to me...

Much heavier than I expected...man I wish the brush hog was here right now! Things happen...guess someone, somewhere has some extra parts for a BB60... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I would almost bet you will be happy with the chain guards when you see them. Let us know...

My tractor has about 110 hours on it now and about 85 to 90 are mowing.
The rubber isnt worth a flip. i have patched them about 3 times now. i had a rip in one and sewed it with safety wire and it's holding but i know it is only temp.
I am planning on building some chain guards for mine just havent broken down and done it yet.
I'm to cheap to buy them! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
