Hey all,
In another thread someone asked me to post my set up for dragging my pastures and gravel driveway. Here is my setup:
1. Boom Pole
2. 50’ of chain link fence folded over on itself.
3. Light chain to hold it together.
4. A piece of 6x6 for weight
I only use the 6x6 for dragging the pastures. When I am doing the gravel driveway, I remove the 6x6. I have set it up with a quick connect/disconnect system that lets me add or remove the 6x6 in about a minute.
The set-up has worked great. It breaks up the horse droppings but doesn’t overly damage the grass in the pastures. This is important in my case because I have 4 horses on 4 acres and they are not kind to the grass. I had considered a pull tine harrow, but this has worked for me for about ¼ of the price.
When I smooth my driveway, it only takes two or three passes to completely remove the washboards effect and the driveway looks new when its finished (about 10 minutes of seat time).
