Chaining Down - Ratchet or Std binders?

I am also one of those who use chains and binders on a daily basis and while I may not be the preetiest critter around I've gotten used to the shape of my head and various body parts and don't want them rearranged by a chunk of steel, that said rachet binders are much safer than snap binders because of the nature of the beast . On rachets I can tighten up as tight as needed with just the binder , with snap binders you need a cheater and when you release it is when it is just as dangerous as when you're tring to tighten it, also if the chains get a little loose simply give another crank on the binder if using rachets and go on, no need to rehook.Btw you might check with the O.P.P. they will pop us for not having 4 chains on each vehicle we have on no matter it's position in the load .

It\'s Unanimous. Everyone prefered Ratchet binders!

Thanks Everybody - 20 responses, and everyone prefers ratchet binders. Guess I know which to get.

Well, i'll go out on a limb on this one. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I haul equipment on a regular basis. I don't like ratchet binders! They are so sloooow to use. 'Snap' binders are...a snap to use. If used properly, they are very safe, and highly effective. However, if not used properly, they can hurt you in a hurry. I always use a cheater bar.
