Looks good. Mount a piece of angle iron on the back of the Trex and bolt to holes in the mount, no bouncing around and put two good size bolts with wing nuts instead of the screws, it will clamp bar tight and secure. I need to make up one for the tractor like that. This is my store bought model. .
I've been makin saw holders for our ATVs for years... recently put one on the tractor. 1/2" plywood works great to make a wooden sleave to hold the bar and not damage the chain. A few pipe straps to hold it to the front rack and a good rubber bungee strap to hold the saw body makes for solid tranport and quick easy access.
Thank you do the idea. I just happen to have some composite decking. I cut a 2x4 in half, the cut 3/4 inch off that so its square. Predrilled and slid in 8 screws. Saw fits like a glove. Now I just have to figure out how to attach it I do have some angle iron lying around. I am satisfied for today with the test fit.
Nice saw scabards mhinch and Ken. They make a good saw holder. I should make one.
I just have trail maintenence box on the front of my wheeler. Crude but functional. Room for saw, fuel, bar oil, chaps, tools, and whatever.
I like your taste in atvs Gordon. Mine is a 2001 sportsman 400 with 132 hours on it. I'm seriously considering building a DR type trailer for use around the property.
