About how long does it take you to cut through one of those slabs?

If you get ripping chain, I think you're going to be amazed at how much more quicker and easier it will cut. See Bailey's Online for a source. Unless you want to buy a roll, you'll need to figure out what type of chain you have and how many links you'll need.

I'm a little concerned that the electric motor won't be able to handle the long cuts. Hopefully you let it cool down in between each cut.

Anyway, nice work! :D

Thanks srjones for the ripping chain source, as for the electric saw I bought 10or 12 years ago on sell for 59.99 so if it burns tomorrow not out much.I had to buy a new chain spocket it had been out for about two years ,its a 3.50hp. cedar is not that hard I do thank it do good on oak, Zinno87 it takes about 3 or 4 min. to cut a 6' board it takes long to set the log to cut.I also take a air hose and blow the sawdust out of the motor after each cut.

It's pretty slick rigging.
I guess I'm a bandsaw type to save as much as possible per cut.
Nice wood for sure.

When you are squaring the log up do you slab it from the top and then turn the log and take off another slab or do you cut off the slabs from the bottom side of the log. I have one of the remington electric saws like that except mine is black. We use it all the time to do yard work, it's been real handy. Do you have rollers on the saw platform to make it easier for the saw to run the track. Good project thanks for sharing.
