Farmtrac 555DTC
I have a 2005(?) Farmtrac 555DTC with a bale spear and 4 ft bucket that I NEED to sell. It only has 173 hrs on it. What are my chances of selling it for $9000? Just need a little feedback please.

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it. I'm pretty sure you are right.

First of all, how many hours are on those tractors? Second, what is their condition? Third, you need two people that want the item before the price will go up. Fourth, auction prices vary throughout the country. A 550 in Maryland is going to sell different than a 550 in Ohio. Just because Farmtrac became Montana doesn"t mean that L.S. Tractor is not supporting their product. Use that for a selling point. Parts are available for the Korean tractors. A 55 hp 4wd with 150 hrs for 9000 dollars, give me a break

Um...what did you mean by "give me a break"?

I believe he thinks it is worth every bit of $9K.

The issue always is simply that stuff is worth exactly what someone will pay for it. True enough, auction reports are wholesale, not retail, and yes, the hours were not reported on those units, so head's up.

Still, those results provide some objective data from various sales around the country. Your tractor will stand on its own merits, of wear 'n tear, cleanliness, local demand and so forth. Price it too high and the phone won't ring. Price it too low and you sell it too fast. Best regards on your sales project.

Thanks for that. I really wasn't sure if it was a slam or what. I don't want to sell the tractor, but our financial situation is trying to dictate it. Thanks again!

Did not mean it as a slam but, if someone offered a 55 hp Farmtrac tractor here for that money, It would be gone in a hurry. Farmtrac tractor prices have come back up here. It is true, prices took a dive, at first, but now are rebounding nicely if you can find a used one at all. Then again, price a new one today in any color. L S Tractor did all the owners of Korean Longs and Farmtracs a great service. We should be greatful for them entering this country. trac

I honestly don't know, but is the OP's model Korean LS or an Indian Escorts? Do the Escorts models maintain the same level of re-sale interest?

Not that TractorDate is infallible, but they list it as Indian.

If so, LS entering this market is meaningless and would LS have any interest in supporting them anyhow. Who knows.

I went to the dealers meeting back in March 1999. The 4wd Korean tractors were introduce at that time. The 280 & 360 model for compacts. The 410, 470, & 530 models for the utility tractors. This started the ties with LG Cable. LS- Mtron is here today because they sold tractors. They are priced well for a good product. Escort is gone because they did not sell enough. Where is the Escort company today? Other companies are rebranding LS tractors for sale in North America. Parts are available from LS for the above models that they made. What about Escort? Now lets talk about resale value. trac
