I am considering changing my Bobcat 335 excavator from its current key ignition to the keyless ingition. My current panel is bad and I figure now would be a good time to switch. The keyless panel's plug in "J-boxes" appear the same as my key panel.

So, what do I do with the 3 wire connector that now goes to the key switch ? Is the key switch just disconnected and the 3 wire connector tied up out of the way ? Or does the key switch hide in the console in the on position ? If so, how is the start function controlled from the panel ? i understand now the start function is the only circuit that does NOT go through my present display panel.....

Thanks in advance.

Over at the skidsteer forum they claim that the machine must be programmed by a dealer to make the keyless panel work. You might research it more or ask over there.

Your still in the same boat. The keyless panel costs even more and still needs to be programed to be used. :confused2: Can you post the SN# ?

With a key style panel that harness does go back to the main harness and panel connection, it powers up the panel and signals to operate fuel solenoid and starter go through the panel. With a keyless panel it simply ignores key switch inputs and runs from the push button. To start a machine after it has been programed, push the run button enter password then push start/run again.
