The B7510 Turf Special is high on my list for purchase but I would like to keep open the possibility of adding a backhoe so am concerned about the fixed ROPS. I know the Kubota backhoe can be had with a kit to switch the fixed ROPS to a folding ROPS. My questions are 1) is that switch a simple matter of a few bolts that could be done without returning the tractor to the dealer and 2) what happens if I decide to use a non OEM BH such as the Woods...can I still get a simple ROPS switch out kit from Kubota? I will have the tractor on an island and dealer service will be difficult to arrange so I am interested in whether this is something I can do myself without disassembling half the tractor. Dealer says it is a few bolts at fender level but some of the posts here seem to imply a more significant disassembly.

BTW, I would have the dealer just do the switch before purchase but he says he'd have to order the part from Kubota and I would like to arrange delivery soon.

Changing to a foldong ROPS is not a big deal remove a few bolts swap out the ROPS and reinstall the bolts. You will probably need help with lifting the ROPS and holding it in place while starting the bolts. If your unsure about doing it yourself your dealer should be willing to show how to do it, so you can decide if it something you want to do.

Thanks. That information keeps the 7510 in the running. Trying hard to make a decision between the 7510 turf and the Kioti ck20. Both seem to be great tractors with slightly different strengths.

I've had mine off - it's just a few bolts. No job at all.

I had the dealer change my folding ROPS to a fixed ROPS. I don't ever intend on getting a BH and it makes it much easier getting in and out of the garage. He did it at my house in about 20 minutes. There are four large bolts that hold the top of the ROPS to the bottom. Since the bolts are put in from the inside, you also have to take off the rear lights (3 per side) to get the bolts out. I could have done it but since he brought it he did it. I was concerned about the liability and warranty with the ROPS so I did feel more comfortable that he did it.
