Hi all I've got a 65 mk1 and on the inside of the hub at the top there is a 1/8" gap that opens and closes when pushing on the top of the tyre. i presume this is the wheel bearing worn out? i have ordered the parts anyway but need to know what tools will be needed and how to do it? I am new to this so idiot proof advice would be a great help! the wheel hub is the one with wheel nuts and not bolts.
many thanks! Mat.

If it's the hub you will need a wrench big enough to remove the nut under the cap. A crescent wrench is fine as you can use that to remove the cap. You will also need a hammer and punch to remove the outer races. Go to you tube and watch any video about replacing wheel hub bearings. That should help too.
Any pictures?

Thanks. Sounds simple. Hopefully the parts are here tomorrow and I can have a go. If I get stuck I'll take some pics of my pile of bits!
Thanks for advice!

Getting the outer races out is the hard part. The getting the new race in is the second hardest. Did both of my front hubs and kingpins last summer. I probably replaced the original stuff.
