Changing from 4x4 to 4x2 lever.

Hi, Is the lever for the 4X4 and 4X2 up or down when in I'm in 4X4? I have a L2800DT-R tractor.

hay! my l4310 has a decal showing where the lever should b , up is 4x4 on my 4310 look closely at the symbol i had to

Hi Terry. I have an L3400 which is essentially the same as an L2800 exept for the HP rating. Up is 4X4. In case you didn't know, you need to back up very slowly when changing into 4 wheel drive. Same when going back to 2 wheel. I messed around with that dagburn lever for 20 minutes or more before I decided to call my dealer and ask what the deal was. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

As stated, up for 4WD, down for 2WD, but there's also a diagram on a sticker next to the lever - at least my 3410 has such. I do not need to stop or shift into reverse to switch from 4WD to 2WD and visa versa, just to go slow and gently push/pull on the lever. Under your other foot (right foot) is the rear wheel lock lever, stomping on that (which is a bit awkward) while in 4WD is about all the traction your tractor will be able to muster (i.e., if stuck and that doesn't work, it's time to use the FEL).

My B2400 4x4 is up . don't you have decals or a book? another way is to do some work and you will know soon enough which is 4x4 /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
