Mahindra MAX 28XL, Jinma 254 (Sold)
I have a Jinma 254 that I changed the injector oil and want to make sure I did it right (it's been awhile). I took the breather/fill cap off, unscrewed the drain plug, drained it thoroughly then replaced the drain plug. I then added 4 oz of engine oil. The manual said there was a oil level hole and to get the oil to that point. I didn't see any oil level plugs on my injector. My tractor is a 2006/07.

Thanks, that manual is a big help! My owners manual is the same but didn't have clear pictures.

Ronmar what are those 10mm bolts? That is the the same as mine but I think it would be too high for the oil level.

Might as well try one more picture.

Good Question, I thought those were to check the level, but I have also read using the other vent. They are indeed vents, as you can remove them to access the inside of the case. They might be for checking for fuel oil dilution. If the IP pistons are leaking past, it will eventually contaminate the oil till it looses lubricity. The diesel will float on top of the lube so would drain out those vents when checked, before it gets to the point of pushing out the top vent. Open the bottom bolt and see which one drains first when comared to the vent with the rubber cap...

Also add oil slowly, it takes a little while for the fresh oil to migrate thru the pump and find it's own level throught the case...

Nope. The diesel fuel is miscible with the lubricating oil. You can only tell it's diluted by smell, checking the level, or viscosity test. It won't decant. Best place to drain is at the lowest point which is the governor housing. They share a common sump.

I thought they didn't mix... At any rate an increase in the IP oil level would be an indication of pumps leaking past...
