hi,
I have a 1982 ford 4110 , UK built. The gear change is steering mounted , original "rubic cube" that has developed a fault - the gearbox is disengaging from 4th gear while on the move.
Does anybody know what is the easiest and most economic way to change the gears to floor change. Obviously I could arrange a complete transplant of a gearbox from a similar tractor but this is I expect the most expensive way to do this.
Is there a kit to carryout out this change and does anybody have a list of the parts required.
I understand that I will probably have to change parts in the existing gearbox - detents etc but that does not concern me.
Finally, how can I verify that the parts I change will allow the box to operate in synchro mode as opposed to some of the earlier ford gearboxes that were "crash" boxes.
Thanks for reading my post. Would appreciate any advise you may have.
