Well I want to swap the rear tires to widen my rear end. It will make it more stable and make using chains easier as well. I have had chains on it as is but the chains sometimes will hit the turnbuckles when my snowblower is on. My question is once I jack the rear up where can I put the jack stands? Here is a pic. My 2 options are where my fingers are at. I just wanna make sure I'm not going to put to much weight on part of the tractor that's not designed for it and bend something!! Sorry if this question seems silly. Sent from my iPhone using TractorByNet

do not put them where your fingers are !!!

Put them under the heavy cast iron axle housings that goes out to the center of your wheels.

That's what I was afraid of. There is no round axle that is reachable with the stands. Should I just put them under this round casing? At the very bottom is a drain plug bolt. I don't think that would be stable? It seems the compact tractor is a little to "compact"! Lol.

The only area I can really see to get at is the under side of the mid mount pto. But I'm sure that's not a good idea either. I think I'll have my FIL stop over to help me so I don't break something.

the first item you show is the housing for the gears that drive the wheel. That should be ok. I don't think the bolts you show will be hurt. That's were I put mine when I took my wheels off.

You have one of these housings on each wheel. What's between them? There should be a large cast iron housing right in the center of the tractor that connects to these two housings. You should be able to put your stands somewhere on/near this.

Not being familiar with your exact tractor isn't helping me a lot but they're all built somewhat alike in the rear.

btw, your wheels are way too clean for a tractor that is being used. :)

Thanks pilgrim. I crawled under and yes I can access the housing between the axles. I will tackle the job in the next few days. I don't wanna get into it and miss the beginning of the basketball game tonight. Lol. And btw I just washed the tractor yesterday so that's why they are so clean.

I have not had to jack the rear up yet. How about trying the flat spot where the drawbar slides in? Its perfectly centered on the tractor. I would also put my bar in the 3pt hitch and lift from there.

Ya that is the spot I'm gonna jack it up at but I can't put the jack stands there to balance the tractor when I take the tires off.

You have a couple spots to put the jack stands. One would have to be after you take the tire off you could place the stand under the axle tube. Or jack it up and place the jack stands under the silver bushing that the sway link for the 3pt arms hook up to. In one of your pictures you have your finger on the axle housing and you can see the silver bushing just below it.

I got the tires swapped today. It's about 3-4 inches wider. First thing I did was test it on my slopes and it made a huge difference! Look at all the room between the 3 point arm turn buckle and the tire now. I won't have anymore trouble with the chains and snowblower now. My FIL helped me and we took our time and it took about a hour. Here are some pics. Sent from my iPhone using TractorByNet
