I bought this mower last year, and I just did the initial break-in service for the transmission oil and filters. I got it done, but good gravy, what a hassle! I'm thinking there HAS to be an easier way.

When adding the new fluid, the manual says to remove an upper breather plug, and fill until the fluid starts coming out. Then I put the plug back in and fill to the required level in the reservoir. The breather plug is practically impossible to see and touch, much less get a wrench on it. I managed to get a 1/4" socket wrench in place, but the process was quite tedious. I have to think that professional mechanics find an easier way.

Anyone have experience on these mowers?

My Grasshopper front mount is due for a filter and hydro oil change, but my seat platform hinges up exposing the whole transmission and wheel motors. I've seen some of the procedures for other mowers that require wheel removal and clear extension hoses attached to funnels so you can watch the oil slowly trickle in until it overflows. I didn't realize how good I have it until seeing some of those videos for other mowers.
