Iam going to install a steering valve on my log skidder and do away with the stick steering. My question the tractor weighs 12 tons it has 24.5 x 32 tires and on eather side of the articulation there is one on each side a four inch cylinder with a 18 inch stroke. Will a Char-Lynn steering valve with a Displ. of 17.9 work and how many turns of the wheel will it take to hit the stop point ? Ive been thinking on this project for a number of months. I built a 6 gallion hydraulic tank and wonder if that will be big enough to keep from getting the fluid to hot. And mounted a hyd. pump and will run it off a belt but like all equipment theres very little room to put anything under the hood. As far as the pump goes Iam not real sure on the gallion per minuite flow, but use to have it mounted on a truck and run a Prientce 110 log loader. Iam a new guy from Western Ohio and would like any help I could get on this project. Thanks Bill
