The purpose for the cyl is to lift the planter plates when you make a row turn

A common size for farm implement cylinders is either 3 x 8 or 3 x 10. Give a Deere dealer a call and ask, will be the quickest way to find out. You didnt mention what size (rows) this planter is.

Deere dealer did not know for sure , but said it may be 3 x 8 If i get a 3 x 10
it should work.Said it was common to move cyl from implement to implement
back in the day due to cost of cyl
Thx for the help:)

Would help to measure the distance between the cylinder mounting holes with the planter in the down position and in the up position. This will help determine the length of the needed cylinder. Head to your local farm supply or dealer and measure the overall length of their cylinders. 3x8 was the most common farm implement cylinder, back in the day.
