Cheap Pallet Forks

I have been looking to add forks to my bucket for a while but just to darn cheap to spend a couple hundred on a used set. My work happened to have an old pallet jack going to the scrap yard. First I welded 2x2 to the frame to fit onto the receiver already mounted on my bucket. Worked great but wanted to lift just a little more weight.





Then it hit me to just make it work on the 3 point also.





Yes I do know that they aren't adjustable and you have to be careful of the pallet sliding side to side. But hey price was right and it works for me and maybe it will inspire others.

Not a bad idea i've seen guys re-use forks off a fork lift but pallet mover is new to me. Just be careful not to bend them these are not constructed to be subjected to the bending load you'll see using them as a fork lift. The load the path they were intended for was supported at both ends not just the rear.

In the pic showing the forks loaded on the bucket, that is the limit of the hydros(that is why there is a half block). In the rear I backed up to my loaded enclosed car trailer and just stuck the very end of the pallet jack under. The 3 point hitch couldn't lift it and there was no deflection of the forks. I am confident I couldn't bend them with the limitations of the tractor.

Well thats good to know as long as you dont hit any big bumps at speed carrying a heavy load you should have no worries

Saw something like this at an auction last weekend (not as nicely done as this however). Only addition was a heavy screen on the back to keep the load from falling on the tractor/operator.
