Cheap phones, man, things aren\'t made good anymore
One of my household's Razr phones took a 200' fall. The top and bottom parts broke apart. Man, they don't make things like they use to...it should take at least a 250' fall, ROFL.
Unbeliveably, the phone will still turn on, dial a number and the receiving party can hear what you say; but, it's a one sided conversation.
The phone is only 5 months into a 24 month contract, with no insurance...soooo, there is no discounted replacement available. All I am offering the slippery fingered kid is the use of my old phone B4 I got my Razr. The technology is the same, so it is a viable option.
MY QUESTION: this is a Verizon phone...meaning it's not a simple as switching a sims card: Will Verizon reprogram my old phone to the other number? Or not? Should I expect a charge?
I realize I can just call Verizon's customer no service or visit a store; but, I'm hoping you guys can tell me what to expect B4 taking for gospel what some dude in India says if a call 611 or what some little kid tells me if I visit a store.
And please nobody recommend the insurance. Just like extended car warranties, that stuff is a ripoff. With five phones x $5 per phone/month that equals $300 a year. I would have spent several thousand bucks over the years and this is the first time it would have paid off (similar experience with extended car warranties).....still, the slippery fingered kid's only option is my old phone.....one more comment from butter fingers and even my old phone won't me an option....mean old Dad.
