I just got this Satoh Beaver. Quite a nice machine. The previous owner had the check chains on the inside of the lower arms. I moved them to the outside: see picture. Am I doing this right?

That is the way mine are.

That's the correct way from the factory, but be aware that configuation is not very strong. The rod ends will tend to bend with moderate side-loading of the implement. As long as you're aware of this (i.e. minimize side-loading) you should be fine. I broke mine backing up a trailer once at an angle using the 3-pt with a trailer adapter.
