Check your wheel spacers carefully for fit!

I was putting on a pair of 1.5 inch wheel spacers and almost did not notice that they were not completely slipping over the center hub on my JD 3203.

Notice the gap between the spacer and the hub below.



The hub stuck out 1/2 an inch. The spacer cut out inside was only about 0.4 deep.

I don't have a milling machine so I roughed out the spacer with a carbide 4 flute 3/8th end mill with my drill press.



Worked just fine.

Be careful to check this out.

I'm hobby farmer over in the Tri-Cities. I was into row croppin' corn for a while and needed to get the wheel spacing right, so, I needed a set of 1" spacers and already had the roundy's cutout and drill the stud holes and just needed the pilots put in like what you have. I tried four machine shops and there wasn't a one of them that would even put something in a lathe chuck for less than $500. I only needed about 3/8" taken out. I finally found a friend that did it for "Free" (I paid w/barter). I now have my own lathe and milling machine (still need to get electric rotary phase converter hooked up). The small guy gets it in the shorts over here. I have to do all my own maintenance as you can't get near a dealers shop doors for less than a $1000 for anykind of work around here. I'm into hay now and the spacers are hanging on the wall. bjr
