The HST uses the same oil reservoir as the rest of the tractor's hydraulic system. When the engine is running there really isn't much of a level change - maybe a quart or so depending on the model and attachments. The HST is mounted low so is immune to small fluctuations in reservoir level which typically has well over 30 quarts in it. If the level is anywhere on the dipstick its fine. Take care, Dick BI am working 15 hours away. Level is different, running or not.
Has fluid but I am wondering.
L3800 HST.
You got it. HST is not in any way similar to an automatic transmission in a car which is checked with engine running. The HST uses the same oil reservoir as the rest of the tractor's hydraulic system.
