Checking hydraulic fluid level

Can anyone explain how to check level on hydraulic fluid level on a 4225H or similar? Owners manual just says where the sight glass level is. When I took delivery, dealer said to have 3-point all the way down and loader lowered. Is this correct? Then check to see oil is half way in sight glass?

I wouldn't worry about where the loader was as you have oil on both sides of the pistons of the loader cylinders all that would change would be the volume of the piston rods. What maybe a quart or two? the 3 point maybe a couple of quarts.
I run my 8050 a bit over and it is difficult to see the level its hard to say if its over full or low,
so what I do is look at the sight glass when she's sitting level, the pull it over to where the front end goes down in a good dip and look again if I can see that its definitely clearer I figure I'm good, if I'm not sure or don't think it changed I'll turn around and get the rear end lower to see if I can tell a change.
I'm "blessed" with lots of places to raise or lower the front end.
When it is in the center of the sight glass it is visible, just hard to get it there sometimes.
Yes, center of sight glass is factory spec when level.

Another dealer spreading false facts and rumors. 3-point up - 3-point down - - FEL up or down - - will make no difference. Just be certain the tractor is level - front to back and side to side when you check the sight glass.

You want difficult - - try reading the hydraulic fluid level on my tractors dip stick.

Ok, so oil level is fine. Was hoping this would help me figure out why my grapple bucket won’t roll all the way back now. Started out fine the other day, but after a few hours of moving brush and cedar trees, it won’t roll all the way back. Hmmmm

Something binding? Something bent? When's the last time you greased it? Done any heavy work that may have warped the bucket?

After much searching, found one of the quick disconnects for the loader had come detached. Once I got it reattached, the bucket roll back worked as it should.
