Looked at a ym276D today and wondered what you all think. 1800 hours showing on meter, but all four tires are bald. Seller said they hold air, but the rear tires looked like they really underinflated. Blue smoke, not black smoke, for a couple of minutes after start up. Dented hood. Corroded battery area and junk battery. The unit started right up, but the starter wouldn't engage after it had been restarted a couple of times. Seller said it was the low battery, but he said he had trouble with the starter not engaging.
Clutch pedal didn't seem to have the length of travel that I expected.
Appears to have been a rental machine since it has a #3 on the hood. Some areas where things are missing--the proper pins to retain the upper lift arms, the cover over the shift on the dash, the coolant recovery tank, maybe a cover that went over the gauges on the top of the dash, but the gauges are present and seem to be working except maybe the temp gauge.
Operation wise, the unit seemed mechanically sound. Didn't see any obvious leaks, but the engine seemed like it had been cleaned because there just wasn't any dirt on it.
Curious about one thing in particular about the front wheel drive hubs. There appears to be a circular pivot point on both front hubs so that the wheels will turn. The gap in the housing on one side was maybe 1/8-3/16 and much less of a gap on the other side. The tractor was sitting on a slight slope when I saw this, but should this make any difference? The drive hubs did have evidence of gear and dirt build up on the outside, but the majority had been cleaned off.
$2500 asking price. Probably going to pass on it, but for future reference, I'd like to hear what I should be looking for next time. Thanks.
