Just got my Woods BB72 delivered yesterday! About time... I didn't have time to hook it up though, but I did get through the manual. However, nowhere does it say anything about checking the PTO shaft length. I know this is necessary, but how is it done correctly? My RFM was setup from the dealer.
I seems to me that lifting my RFM causes the shaft to shorten slightly. So, I suppose I could hook up the BB and adjust it to the desired cutting height and fore/aft lean with no shaft, raise it as high as it will go, measure from each splined shaft's spring pin catch groove (??) on the tractor and mower, and then compare this measurement to the supplied PTO shaft completely compressed (ie its shortest length). If it doesn't get that short, then I got some cuttin' to do! How's that sound? What did I miss?
I tried searching the forums, but no 'how to' info.
Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
