Checking tire pressure

I'm brand new to tractors, I bought a Kubota B7500 and never see much about that machine on here, hope I didn't buy the wrong machine !!

I have filled tires and wonder, with filled tires, does that mean the stem has to be on the top to check the air ? Thanks Whitie

Welcome to TBN ! I would not worry about not seeing a lot of threads/posts about the B7500; probably not many complaints from owners. They are probably getting a lot of "seat time" instead of venting about their tractors on TBN . There appear to be quite a few B7500 members here.

As to checking your tires definitely keep the valve stems at 12 o'clock. Before you place the pressure gauge on the valve stem depress the valve quickly to clear it of CaCl solution. Then take your pressure reading. I would wipe the pressure gauge off afterwards. The CaCl is pretty caustic stuff. Buy a cheap pressure gauge for your tractor-you will be replacing them with regularity. Jay

Thanks Jay, I guessed that is how it has to be done but was not sure, also thanks for the tip on a cheap guage.
I am enjoying this site and the pics you guys post, BUT, my new purchase and I can't even do anything with it yet, I will have plenty to do at my cottage in Gilmanton NH in the spring, but for now I don't even have any snow to push around here in Mass. LET IT SNOW BIG TIME !! I'm dying to get some seat time myself. Whitie

whitie13 - I've owned my B7500 for 3 1/2 years and have never regretted the purchase. I use it to finish mow 3 acres of lawn and mow and harrow 8 acres of horse pasture, and to move snow with a rear blade (RB). If you matched the tractor to your needs, you picked a good one! Best wishes!

If you use a regular tire gauge you need to have the valve stem positioned above the liquid level in the tires while checking. If you are using a tractor tire gauge for use on air and water filled tires then the valve is positioned below the liquid level.

In my tubless tires I have the water level above the rim, so no matter what, the valve stem is below the water level.

I bought just a guage and schrader valve end and put a hose barb on each.
The used a long piece of clear tubing. Even without clamps it will easily handle 40+ lbs of pressure without coming off.

When the guage is connected (hold guage above the stem), water will flow into the tubing, but only far enough to equalize the pressure with the air in the tube. So I don't get water inside the guage itself.

I bought a Kubota L3240 this winter, while waiting delivery the dealer lent me a B7500 to clear the snow. Very nice, very manueverable, and very quick. If I could put a second tractor in the stable, that would be it. Enjoy your new tractor!
