The 170 and 180 amp wire welders at HF actually look interesting. Better specs than I remember from their old offerings. Duty cycles are not great but they beat my 115V Hobart.

You can get your Hobart serviced. Try that with any welder from HF.

That said, I've always been tempted by their tiny lunch box 80amp inverter stick machine for $129 or so on sale. Not for building bridges or trailers but sure a handy size and would be convenient for tacking or doing small field repairs with a small generator. They are about half the size and weight of a Miller Maxstar and cost about 1/8th as much.

I have one of those I got used for $50. It's a neat little welder but pretty limited. The dual voltage 140 amp machines from Longevity or Everlast would be 3x as useful.
