Chickens during an eclipse

My grandfather used to talk about how the chickens went to roost during the eclipse of 1918. I haven't had chickens in over 40 years. Did anyone who does notice this behavior today?

We feed wild mallards here on the river...they are really tame but every night they parade down the river to a set of rapids and then fly off to the lake for the night (at least that's where we think they go)

That was one of the things I was interested in observing...sure enough they did the same thing they do every evening about dark..!

Our chickens carried out their normal daily routine.

My chickens had a normal day.I did get an odd shaped egg though. 1 odd one out of 8 maybe just a fluke.

So far, we have mixed results. Not having a chicken handy I, tried to keep my eye on some crows across the road from were I was sitting. When it began to get really dark I couldn't see the crows anymore so I don't know what they did.
The eclipse certainly lived up to expectations better than another event my grandfather told me about, Halley's Comet. It's last visit was a big disappointment as seen from SC.

I didn't notice any change here but then it didn't get dark either.
