Hi

As my name shows, I am green at buying a tractor. But hopefull I will learn enough before I put money down on one.

I am leaning towards the 354 Jinma 4x4.

But I have a couple questions.
(1.) I understand that a frame mounted backhoe is better. But what exactly do I lose with a 3-point backhoe?

(2.) Is a 3-point backhoe easier to remove, and put back on then a frame mounted one?

Thanks.

Oh, at first I figured you wanted to buy one of those green tractors with the funny yellow seat... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
On most tractors the subframe is just as easy or even easier to mount dismount than a 3 point setup and much more rigid. Not so on the Jinma, the subrame is weak and requires reinforcement to keep from flexing and fatique fracturing. It is more trouble to mount and dismount because brackets must be bolted and unbloted on. the subframe uses a seat on a lazy suzan type swivel that cannot hold an operators weight without the pin in place. It does keep the backhoe much closer to the rear of the tractor which makes it easier to load on and off a trailer.

Now all of the above is based on 200 series backhoe experience, I have never had a subframe backhoe on a 300 series and have never had a 400 series Jinma in stock. I see you are thinking of a 354 so non of this may be of help to you!

The 3 point setup is quicker to mount and dismount (compared to Jinma subframe). but you should add an addtional link from draw bar to seat bracket so the hoe cannot bounce up and down when you work it. The 3 point can be attached and removed without tools, and if plumbed with a PTO pump, can be used on whichever of your tractors has an empty 3 point.

I have not had a problem with the 3 point backhoes breaking anything, but it is important to know that these are not like a full fleged industrial backhoe.

Thanks for your reply. I decided on the frame mounted style. But not the standard Jinma modle backhoe. I have learn that there is a Korean backhoe made to fit Jinma tractors. I learn about this backhoe from the web page Chinaimporters.com The modle number is BH7600. It looks stronger then the standard Jinma backhoes I seen in pictures.

It also digs deeper. This modle can dig 7'6" with a two foot flat bottom. 8'0" maximun dig. I am attempting to get a price quote on it now.

Have you or anyone reading this post heard of this modle?
