Has anyone modified the feed system on the jinma chipper to better feed small, green stuff. The chipper works great on drier larger limbs but does not feed the smaller stuff well. I was thinking to either add more aggressive paddles to the drum or decrease the space between the drum and the bottom of the feed chute. Also has anyone out there widened the feed chute to accomodate wider branches. thanks glenn
I had considered sharpening the teeth on the feed drum. The concern is this, if the drum doesn't slip on the branch then the belt has to slip. The belt that turns the drum does not have a clutch.
Closing the gap may help and make smaller chips in the process. Let us know but I'm not sure that this chipper will ever chop up the twiggy stuff very well. A shredder would be good on the small twiggy stuff.
