Chinese grease fittings?

I just finished the minor assembly of my disk harrow from Homier and was going to grease the bearings and guess what! They have different grease fittings than I ever saw - small little stubs. I have no trouble greasing the fittings - all over the place! but I really want grease in the bearings Anybody else run into this?

Check with Homier for a Chinese grease gun. It's got a pointed end that you poke INTO the grease fitting. Short of that, replace them all with the conventional type.

Greg, I assume you're talking about a "needle nosed" grease gun, and you can get them at Northern Tool, lots of auto parts stores, the tool trucks that call on the garages, etc. You can also just get a needle nosed adapter to go on your regular grease gun. I used one every day when I was repairing air tools because they're required for a lot of the air tools.

The Chinese grease fittings, or Italian for that matter, are different than the typical type we see. But they are still greased with a regular tip on the grease gun. They will put more grease ON everything unless you use some pressure in toward the fitting, to sort of make it seal. Also make sure the ball in the fitting is free and not stuck.

You can replace them with conventional fittings, but remember they are metric thread. NAPA sells them for sure.

Ain't necessarily so. I've got some fittings on my KAMA that are little more than countersunk holes, nearly flush with the surface that they're screwed into. A "pointy tip" grease gun was supplied WITH the tractor.

Everything's conventional about the KAMA grease gun - except for that special purpose applicator tip. Could be Don's got similar fittings on that Chinese harrow. Thus the suggestion that he check with Homier. Perhaps HE should have been provided a grease gun as well.

I have looked at the Homier disks and will probably get one this year, for no more than I need it for. It does have a funny shaped fitting, but it uses a standard tip. I've got the same fittings on my Italian RFM.
