I'm in the process of mounting my BH to my KAMA 454. I will tie the subframe of the BH to the FEL frame that is attached at the rear axel. The FEL uses the bolts that hold the ROP. The bolts will need to be replaced by a longer bolt. There are 6 that hold the FEL/ROP systems in place. I need to lengthen 4 of the 6. Now to replace these with equivalent or better...

The bolts have fine threads and are marked either
JG/88 or ZH/8.8

13.80mm/0.5425" diameter.

Can any one tell me what 'grade' bolt these are? And can I just replace with a grade 5 or 8 1/2" fine thread?

Paddy,
We want to see some pictures of your project.
As far as those bolts are concerned, if it was me, I would use grade 8 to replace them. I have mine cinched so tight that they are ready to strip.

3RRL,

Do you think I can go with 1/2" grade 8? It would be much more easy than the metric!

I do need to document my project. I have an old Ford BH, model No. 758. The pump is a New-ish Prince PTO 21 g/min pump and I bought all new Prince valves. Hoses look shot and will need replaced. This is a restore and install job!

The mounting set up is/was 3PH with two 5/8 x 4" bars reaching back to the axel area. I'm mounting a 36" long 4" x 4" square tube to the ROP mounts. The 5/8" x 4" bars will pin at the 4" x 4" tube. The idea is to make this a easy and quick change out.

I mounted my Jinma frame mounted backhoe to my Kama 554. I made new rear brackets similar to the Jinma style that mount on the 3 point arm pins and made my own front cross member that bolts on between the FEL frame in front. It takes about 20min to mount and 10 to remove. I used a prince PTO 12Gal pump to power it and it works twice as fast as the old setup.
Use whatever bolts you want, it is your creation so the tractor wont care what you use!

No doubt, I'm sure they would fit in the clearance holes. Do try to go with fine thread 1/2-20 if you decide to do that. The fine thread is stronger and more resistant to working itself loose. If not, 1/2-13 will surely work too. Just use a washer and lock washer and some thread lock.
