Chisel Plow as Cultivator

The chisel plow as I understand it is a primary tillage tool designed for deep tillage. Has anyone used this attachment as a cultivator - say by removing the middle shank [to protect the planted row], and adjusting so the implement digs in only a couple of inches? If so, how did this work for you? Thanks.

Yes, many have bolted shanks that can be slid around and you can bolt sweeps on to better cultivate. Set your depth shallow and go.
