Tractor
Kubota B2301/LA435FEL/BH70 ; John Deere X350
This past summer I offered to do some work for some neighbors. They are very good friends and when I got my tractor I had promised to do a "little" project for them. Well when the day finally arrived, I drove my Kubota over to their house intending to clear a circular driveway for them... about a half days work. Well.... after talking with my friend for some time in the backyard, the plan changed from a circular driveway to 2 ponds and a 150ft. connecting river. His wife was in on the conversation, but clearly not as enthused about the idea as her husband. Reality hits when the piles of dirt start taking over the once serene and peaceful backyard. The four hours of work that I planned on turned into about 3 weekends for me and them hiring contractors that were there everyday for about 3 months. It all started with a little conversation in the backyard and then some holes in the ground. So for their Christmas gift this year we felt it was appropriate to document this event with a photo that I printed up 11x17 and had if framed and matted. I am sure that this is what his wife visualized every night while her backyard was "under construction".

Actually I have to give credit to TBN for the idea. Tonester had a post earlier this year that had multilpying tractors.

Thought I'd share.

Greg

I think it's been mentioned before, but with all the Kubotas, it looks like Henro's house. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

GregJ.

I've done a few of those projects for myself. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
They usually take all summer. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Any pictures of the completed project? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ron,
This project was really a fun one, because I ended up just putting the holes in the ground and left when the "real" work started. Of course I got called back several times because of the daily "I changed my mind about this....." phone calls. First they wanted an island in the upper pond, then they didn't. Then they decided the stream needed another tributary at the bottom. Then they decided to split the pumping between 2 pumphouses (I really question the logic on this one.... I think the contractor was just trying to keep busy. He was paid by the hour...) So, I had to dig a ditch for power to the upper pump house. Of course there was some backfilling and then help with the cleanup after the contractor left. I don't have any photos of the finished project, but I'll get some in the next few days and post them here. I have done a quick drawing of the overall layout of this project. I tried to take photos of the project while it was under construction and could never get a good perspective. When I get the finished photos, I'll have to take several to really get a perspective of what this project looks like. It really did turn out beautiful, and I hope they don't have too much problem with maintenance. The upper pond is probably 20x40 and the lower pond is probably 10x20. The stream is almost 150ft. The elevation drop between the ponds is almost 36".

I've been working on a method to multiply tractors ever since I saw Tonester's 'field of dreams'. Well, late last summer I had a breakthrough in my research and believe I have developed a way to propagate Massey Ferguson tractors from a seed pod! A type of cloneing if you will. The first plantings will be in the spring with high hopes for a bountiful harvest.

I used the cloning technique to help out my daughter when she said she had no friends to ride her dirt bike with.............I'm sure it could work with tractors too since their genitic makeup is similar to motorcycles..............Tom
