I rebuilt this AMES PLOW Co. press for a friend. I get to use it any time for my efforts.
I need advice on making apple cider especially the hard stuff. So if you experienced folks have any advice I would be thankful...
I still need to make a new basket out of hardwood, a new floor and base for directing the juice to the bucket plus a new handle for the press. The base is made of hardwood.
I sanded and applied several coats of urethan/durathan and I wired brushed the cast pieces and repainted. I re-bolted with new bolts etc.
The wooden hopper is a quick build. I need to rebuild with proper angles and will probably make it out of hard wood... It was a 2 minute job... just so I could get pressing!
