Citgo HyDurance AW 46 in 1973 JD 820

Among my next projects for the 1973 JD 820 are to replace the hydraulic screen (not sure if it's metal or nylon!) and replace the hydraulic fluid.

What are all yawls opinions about this stuff from Costco @ ~$50/ 5 Gal? JD Hy-Gard is selling at ~$75/ 5 Gal.

Does you tractor have wet brakes the hyd oil you posted does not say anything about wet brakes....So IDK... I would get Mobilfluid 424........:2cents:

AW oils lack the proper additives for machines with wet brakes and clutch packs. Your 820 has wet brakes.

Ditto hyd oil needs to contain additives for wet brakes. '73 JD 820 has no wet clutches

Nobody said an 820 has a wet clutch.

You're correct nobody stated 820 had wet clutch BUT you mentioned additives in oil for wet clutch packs. 3 cyl 820 doesn't have wet clutch packs either

Let me be more specific. AW oils are not appropriate for any machine with a wet clutch, wet brakes or both.
